Nokia officially introduced the Lumia 520 and 720 in India last week, but only the former is now available for purchase in the country.

In fact, the Lumia 520 is selling so well that some online retailers have already run out of stock. It will be interesting to see whether or not Lumia 720 will have the same faith.

The bad news is that Nokia did not confirm when exactly the Lumia 720 would be available for purchase in India. Instead, it informed customers that both Windows Phone 8 handsets would go on sale from April 6.

The good news is that some retailers have already started preparing for the Lumia 720 and have listed the device on their online stores, along with its price tag.

As fonearena points out, Nokia Lumia 720 has just showed up at Flipkart, but the phone is listed as “out of stock,” which means the retailer has yet to receive the first shipment.

According to Flipkart, the smartphone will be available for pre-order for Rs 18,500 outright, which is about $340 or €260. Moreover, customers who pre-order the Lumia 720 will also receive a free 16GB microSD memory card. Check it out here.

Given the fact that the promotional pre-order offer is valid until April 24, we can expect the smartphone to hit shelves around the same timeframe.

The Lumia 720 is a mid-end Windows Phone 8 handset that comes equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, an Adreno 305 GPU, and 512MB of RAM.

The smartphone sports a 4.3-inch IPS LCD ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

It also packs 8GB of internal memory, microSD memory card for memory expansion (up to 64GB), 6.1-megapixel rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

UPDATE: It looks like Flipkart has just removed the device from its website. Sorry folks.
