Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia officially announced the upcoming availability of the Nokia Lumia 720 smartphone in its homeland market starting with May 10, and also opened the pre-order period for it.

The handset features an expected retail price of 380 EUR ($497), with TAX included, but without the signing of a contract agreement, as a recent post on esphoneblog reads.

Made official in February during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, the mobile phone arrives on shelves with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display on the front, and with a 1GHz dual-core processor inside.

Furthermore, the smartphone was unveiled with 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot to allow for additional storage to be added to it.

Lumia 720 was unveiled as a mid-range device, but it will still be able to provide users with high-end features, including a great camera experience while on the go, Nokia announced.

The smartphone packs a 6.7-megapixel photo snapper on the back, capable of shooting HD videos and offering some features that have been included in Lumia 920. Additionally, the mobile phone features a front camera, so that users could make video calls while on the go.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity were included in this smartphone too, along with NFC capabilities, GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors.

Furthermore, the device arrives on the market with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system, as well as with a variety of pre-loaded applications coming from Nokia themselves, including HERE Maps, Drive Beta, Transit, and City Lens.
