Nokia does not have too many Windows Phone devices available on shelves at the moment, but more of them are expected to arrive soon, including a successor for the Lumia 710.

While no official confirmation on such a device has emerged for the time being, enthusiasts did take their time to imagine how it might look like.

Powered by the upcoming Windows Phone 8 platform, it could boast far better hardware specifications than its predecessor, which will make it increasingly appealing.

The new Lumia 720 concept phone, coming from designer Mkrtchyan Edgar (via MyNokiaBlog), proposes a dual-core approach to the smartphone, complemented by a larger touchscreen display.

Thus, the 1.6 GHz chip inside this mobile phone would be hidden beneath a 4.3-inch touchscreen display that could deliver a 1280 x 768 pixel resolution.

Moreover, it would pack a 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with PureView technology (after all, Nokia did promise it for Lumia devices), capable of recording videos in full HD resolution. A 1.3MP front camera should prove a great option for making video calls.

Inside Nokia Lumia 720, users would find 16GB or 32GB of memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

Other specs of this concept phone include DLNA, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, support for 3G and even 4G networks, and a 2200 mAh battery to provide it with longer battery life.

The outer case of this device would be made of magnesium, the same as Microsoft’s Surface tablet PCs, and will provide users with a range of color options.

The concept device looks pretty appealing, especially with that Windows 8 logo on the front, replacing the older key on existing Windows Phone handsets.

However, this Nokia Lumia 720 remains only a concept device for the time being. Nokia might actually launch a handset featuring this model number, but it could be a totally different device.
