Nokia is gearing up for the release of its first Windows Phone devices in China, and one of these handsets has just received the necessary approvals in the country.

The smartphone was seen at the Chinese radio management commission as Nokia 719C, and is presumed to be nothing more than a variant of last year’s Lumia 710. It was rumored to arrive with the same 3.7-inch screen and with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

The device features support for China Telecom's CDMA2000 network, the same as a recently rumored Nokia 800C handset, also set to hit the carrier’s network with Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform on board.

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in late February, Microsoft made the latest version of Windows Phone official, and it should be loaded on this device as well.

Called Tango, this platform release brings along compatibility with lower-end hardware, as well as expanded language support, Chinese included.
