Good news for Windows Phone fans in Canada, as Microsoft has just confirmed the first smartphone to ship with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system out of the box, Nokia Lumia 635 will be available in the country through major carriers Rogers and TELUS.

The information appears on Microsoft Canada official website, but details on the smartphone’s price tag and release date are missing for the moment. However, we suspect the smartphone will be available for purchase beginning next month.

The Lumia 635 is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and only 512MB of RAM.

While Windows Phone 8.1 has been optimized to work flawlessly on smartphones with only 512MB of RAM, some apps and games may not have all their features available for these devices or will simply not work at all.

The Lumia 635 sports a decent 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution which features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The smartphone also packs 8GB of internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB) and 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and HD (720p) video recording. Nokia Lumia 625 lacks LED flash and secondary front-facing camera.
