Windows Phone fans in Singapore will be pleased to know they won't have to wait any longer for their first Windows Phone 8.1 handsets, as Microsoft confirmed the Lumia 635 will be available for purchase in the country beginning June 14.

Nokia Lumia 635 will be available at local brick and mortar Nokia stores, but also via authorized retailers and major carriers, including M1, Starhub and Singtel, WPCentral reports.

The information has been confirmed on Nokia Singapore's official Facebook page, so Windows Phone fans should prepare their wallets, as the Lumia 635 arrives in their country this weekend.

Regarding the price, Microsoft confirmed Nokia Lumia 635 would go on sale for only S$240 outright, which is about US$190.

Obviously, Nokia Lumia 635 will ship with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system out of the box, but it will also include the Lumia Cyan update which is exclusive to Nokia Lumia smartphones.

Unlike its Lumia 630 sibling, the Lumia 635 offers LTE support, but users will be able to take advantage of additional connectivity options, including HSDPA (42Mbps), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS.

The only downside of the Lumia 635 seems to be the fact that it comes with only 512MB of RAM and while Windows Phone 8.1 has been especially developed to run smoothly on low-end devices, some apps and games might not work as intended on this smartphone.

Another drawback might be the lack of the front-facing camera, so those looking to grab selfies or make video calls might want to look for another Windows Phone handset instead of the Lumia 635.

Other than that, Nokia Lumia 635 is pretty decent in terms of specs. The smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 8GB of internal memory.

Users will be able to further expand storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot. The Lumia 635 sports a large 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the back, the smartphone packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and HD (720p) video recording. Unfortunately, Lumia 635's main camera does not feature LED flash, so capturing photos in low-light environments is not recommended.

Last but not least, the affordable Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone is powered by a 1830 mAh battery, which should provide up to 650 hours of standby time or up to 12 hours of talk time (14 hours in 3G mode).
