Starting today, mobile phone users in the UK can pre-order the first Windows Phone 8.1-based smartphone out there, namely the Nokia Lumia 630.

Earlier this week, Microsoft officially announced that the smartphone is now available for purchase and that markets in Asia are the first to receive it.

The handset is planned for release in Europe and the US as well soon, and it seems that users in the UK will get the chance to grab it as soon as May 20.

The device is already available for pre-order in the country via online retailer Unlocked Mobiles, with a price tag of £149.98 ($252/€184) attached to it. The price includes VAT, while the smartphone is being sold SIM-free and unlocked.

Lumia 630 comes with a 4.5-inch screen, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU inside complemented by 512MB of RAM, and with 8GB of internal memory.

Moreover, the new device features a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of external storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and the entire set of usual connectivity capabilities inside and it is powered by an 1830 mAh battery.

As UnwiredView notes, initial stock of the device might be limited, which means that users might want to pre-order it as soon as possible to ensure they do get one.
