Mobile phone users in India interested in the purchase of a Windows Phone 8-based Nokia Lumia will soon be able to grab the Nokia Lumia 625 smartphone, as it has been already listed on pre-order at retailers in the country.

The mobile phone can now be seen on this page on Snapdeal’s website, with an August release date attached to it, but with no specific price tag (though users will have to place a Rs. 1,000 ($16 / €12) deposit to reserve it).

However, a recent article on WMPoweruser notes that the device could cost around Rs.18,000 ($292 / €220) at launch.

Lumia 625 has been rumored to arrive on shelves in India before August is over, and the fact that Nokia is getting ready for its launch in the UK on August 28 suggests that it might make a similar move in this country as well.

However, nothing has been officially confirmed on the matter as of now, and we’ll have to wait for an official announcement to be sure.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Nokia Lumia 625 was made official last month with a 4.7-inch touchscreen display, the largest screen of any Lumia device.

However, the handset is only a mid-range device, packing a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor inside, and 512MB of RAM.

The mobile phone is aimed mainly at rivaling mid-range Android-based handsets, which pack increasingly large touchscreens, thus being more appealing than the smaller Windows Phone 8 devices.

Nokia Lumia 625 also sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, front camera for making video calls, 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage.

Furthermore, the smartphone features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, FM Radio, and a 2000 mAh battery, capable of delivering up to 15.2 hours of talk time on 3G networks.
