Nokia Lumia 625 hit shelves in India back in August and was available for purchase for Rs 19,999 ($320 / €235) until recently.

However, it looks like the Finnish company decided to drop the phone’s price tag in India, something that Nokia should have done a few weeks ago.

As WMPoweruser points out, Nokia Lumia 625 is now up for sale via Flipkart for only Rs 16,149 outright, which is about $260 or €170.

Some might say that this should have been the phone’s original price tag and that it took Nokia too long to discount the Lumia 625, but better late than never.

Nokia Lumia 625 is a considerable upgrade from the previous Lumia 620 model. It offers improved specs and a much sleeker design.

The smartphone is powered by Windows Phone 8 platform and comes equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.

In addition, Nokia Lumia 625 packs an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

Unlike the Lumia 620 that sports a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display, the Lumia 625 boasts a much larger 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

It also supports HSPA+ (42Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76), as well as LTE cat 3. On the back, Nokia’s Lumia 625 features a 5-megapixel main camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front, there’s a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Last but not least, Nokia Lumia 625 is powered by a high-capacity 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should provide up to 550 hours of standby time or up to 24 hours of talk time (15 hours in 3G mode).
