Canadian carrier Koodo Mobile has just released the cheapest Nokia smartphone to run Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system, Lumia 610.

Customers who wish to give Windows Phone a try can pick this one up for as low as $50 CAD on the TAB. However, the Lumia 610 can also be purchased for $200 CAD without the Tab.

It is also worth mentioning that customers who buy the Lumia 610 online will be given a free $25 Visa gift card. This offer is only available with new activations.

According to Koodo Mobile, customers who purchase the Lumia 610 online will receive their gift card in 4-6 weeks after activation if account is in good standing. Keep in mind that this offer is available while quantities last.

Koodo Mobile won’t be the only Canadian carrier to sell the Nokia Lumia 610. Rumor has it that TELUS is about to add this affordable Windows Phone device to its portfolio as well.

For the time being, only the black version of Lumia 610 is available for purchase through Koodo Mobile, but the carrier plans to launch a white-themed variant pretty soon.

We expect the white Lumia 610 to be priced similar to the black version, so customers who don’t like the black color may want to wait a bit longer until different colors become available at Koodo Mobile.

Nokia Lumia 610 is powered by Windows Phone 7.5 Tango, a specially-tailored platform that powers smartphones with less than 384MB of RAM.

Furthermore, the smartphone sports a decent 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 65K colors. The device is equipped with an 800 MHz single-core processor, which is complemented by an old Adreno 200 GPU and only 256MB of RAM.

There’s also 8GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper, as well as a 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery and Wi-Fi connectivity. Check it out here.
