We reported less than two weeks ago on Nokia’s plans to roll out a new software update for Lumia 610, which is meant to improve the phone’s performance.

The information came straight from Nokia officials, but no release date had been given at that time. However, SymbianTweet reports Nokia has just started to push the previously announced update to Lumia 610 units.

Although the phone’s software version won’t be changed, the firmware will be bumped to version 8779.12340 after the update.

As we already mentioned in our previous article, the update will bring improved camera performance, as well as usability and performance improvements.

It’s likely that Nokia globally rolls out this update in stages, which means not all Lumia 610 owners will receive it at the same time. Make sure you have Zune installed on the PC in order to download the update.
