Today, Finnish mobile phone maker made the Lumia 520 – its cheapest Windows Phone 8 smartphone – available for reservations in Indonesia, and it appears to have already registered success with it.

The smartphone can be seen listed on pre-order at telkomsel, with a price tag of IDR 1,499,000 ($154 / 118 Euro) on the company’s simPATI monthly contracts. The full price tag for the device is IDR 1,975,000 ($203 / 155 Euro).

The pre-order period will last until May 10, while reserved units should be shipped starting with May 7 (pre-orders placed starting with May 6 will be shipped after two business days). The handset will hit stores on May 11.

As mentioned above, the initial pre-order period for the device appears to have been highly successful, as the smartphone is already sold out at erafone on the simPATI plan (in Red, Yellow, Cyan, and White), nokianesia reports.

Made official in February this year, Lumia 520 is the cheapest smartphone in Nokia’s Windows Phone 8 lineup, though it still packs a nice range of appealing features.

The handset was made official with a 4-inch IPS touchscreen display capable of delivering a WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution, as well as with a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor packed inside.

Furthermore, the smartphone features 512MB of RAM, along with 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot to provide users with storage expansion capabilities.

On the back, the new mobile phone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, but no front camera for video calling has been included in the package.

However, Nokia Lumia 520 does arrive on shelves with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, as well as with USB 2.0, 3.5mm audio connector, and 3G capabilities.

The Windows Phone 8 device is powered by a 1430 mAh battery that can deliver up to 9.6 hours of talk time on 3G, or up to 360 hours of standby time.
