Nokia is gearing up for the launch of its latest Windows Phone 8 smartphones, namely the Lumia 720 and Lumia 520, and it has already received the necessary approvals for the launch of the latter in the United States.

The cheap Nokia Lumia 520 smartphone was spotted at the FCC, where it was approved for use in the US with support for 850 / 1900 MHz WCDMA connectivity, which would make it compatible with AT&T’s network in the country, UnwiredView notes.

The handset sports model number RM-915, and might indeed arrive in the country at AT&T, though only T-Mobile was confirmed so far to plan on launching it.

Lumia 520 sports a 4-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper. At the moment, it is the most affordable device that Nokia has unveiled with Windows Phone 8 loaded on top.
