Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is getting ready for the launch of its first large Windows Phone 8 device, long rumored to arrive on shelves as Nokia Lumia 1520, and the handset has already emerged at the FCC.

The smartphone, expected to arrive on shelves with a 6-inch touchscreen display, is said to have been slated for unveiling on October 22, during a press event that Nokia has already officially confirmed.

However, no specific info on what will be announced there has been provided as of now, and the possible launch of Lumia 1520 is only a supposition for the time being.

At the FCC, Nokia Lumia 1520 was listed in two different flavors, featuring model numbers RM-938 and RM-940.

However, as Pocketnow notes, the only difference between the two models appears to be the presence of built-in wireless charging in the RM-940.

Both of the two mobile phones are expected to be launched with support for LTE bands 2, 4, 5, and 17, which suggests that they will arrive on shelves at wireless carrier AT&T.

In addition to unveiling these details, the FCC listing finally confirmed the dimensions of the device: it will be 81mm wide and 152mm tall. No info on its thickness has been offered.

With these dimensions said to be lower than those of Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8, Nokia Lumia 1520 is now said to feature a screen below 6 inches.

However, just as mentioned above, no official confirmation on the smartphone has been provided as of now, and we’ll have to wait for Nokia’s launch event to arrive to learn more on the matter.

In the meantime, however, you might want to know that Lumia 1520 is rumored to feature a quad-core processor inside, 2GB of RAM, and a powerful 20-megapixel camera on the back, capable of shooting photos at 5MP and 16MP at the same time. Stay tuned for more on this.
