Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has yet to enter the segment of large smartphones with a Windows Phone device, yet it seems that it might not be too long before it does, and that a 6-inch Lumia 1520 handset will arrive to prove so.

The device has been spotted online a few times before and has even made it in a leaked press photo last week, but it still remains fairly a mystery to the world.

Today, however, we can have a look at a new set of leaked photos with the mobile phone, available courtesy of The Verge, which appear meant to disclose all there is to know about its outer design.

The upcoming Lumia 1520 is said to be among the first handsets to arrive on the market with the upcoming Windows Phone 8 GDR3 (General Distribution Release 3) platform version, which offers support for new hardware.

The phone is rumored to pack a large 6-inch touchscreen display, capable of delivering a full HD resolution, and should be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which would certainly make it a worthy competitor for high-end Android-based devices out there.

Furthermore, the upcoming smartphone should land on shelves with 2GB of RAM packed inside, as well as with 32GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

According to The Verge, Nokia Lumia 1520 will be able to shoot photos at 5-megapixel and 16-megapixel resolution at the same time. Furthermore, UnwiredView claims that the handset will feature a 20-megapixel PureView snapper.

No other info on the device’s main camera has emerged as of now, but the aforementioned leaked photos show that there will be a camera bump on the back of the device, similar to that present on the Nokia Lumia 925.

Additionally, the leaked images with the phone show that there will be a new column of Live Tiles present on the Start Screen, which should better fit the larger, higher-resolution screen.

Nokia Lumia 1520 should become official in a matter of weeks, and it has already been rumored to be en route to the United States on the network of wireless carrier AT&T. Specific info on its availability around the world has yet to be provided.
