Shortly after announcing the upcoming availability of its first phablet, the Lumia 1520, Nokia unveiled the much more affordable Lumia 1320.

Although both Lumia 1520 and 1320 pack similar 6-inch displays, the latter has only half of the former’s price tag, which means that it is mostly aimed at emerging markets.

Nokia Lumia 1320 will hit shelves in Q1 2014 with an estimated price of $340 (€250) before taxes and subsidies, in China and Vietnam, followed by other Asian markets, India and Europe. The smartphone will be available in orange, yellow, white and black.

Keep in mind that the affordable Lumia 1320 phablet comes with an IPS LCD HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display, as opposed to Lumia 1520 that packs a full HD (1080p) display. The former’s display features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

Just like its more expensive sibling, the Lumia 1320 comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB). It also offers LTE Cat 3, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP support, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, along with HSDPA (42Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps).

The Lumia 1320 sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Last but not least, the smartphone is powered by a high-capacity non-removable 3400 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should provide up to 672 hours of standby time or up to 25 hours of talk time (21 hours in 3G mode).

According to Nokia, the Lumia 1320 “comes with Nokia Music for free streaming of ad-free music and HERE maps and location services, so people can experience the most popular Lumia experiences at a more accessible price.”
