Nokia Lumia 1320 was launched in India back in January and was quite popular among smartphone users, though it didn’t come cheap.

The smartphone was initially priced at Rs 23,999 ($390 / €285) outright, which was a lot at that time for a Windows Phone 8 phablet. However, since Microsoft is about to launch new smartphones this month, the Lumia 1320’s price has been slashed to a more affordable amount.

As WMPoweruser points out, Nokia Lumia 1320 is now available in India for only Rs 17,750 ($295 / €210) off contract. However, the new price is still slightly higher than what the smartphone has to offer.

There are other Windows Phone handsets available in India that offer much better specs for a similar price, which is why we believe that the Lumia 1320 will be available in India for much cheaper in the coming weeks.

The smartphone’s main selling point is the huge 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features ClearBlack technology, along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

Given its large size, the Lumia 1320 has been advertised as the cheaper version of the Lumia 1520, Nokia’s flagship smartphone that comes with a 6-inch IPS LCD display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution).

However, Lumia 1320 hardware configuration is much lower than Nokia’s flagships handset, hence the huge price difference between the two.

For example, Nokia Lumia 1320 is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, whereas the Lumia 1520 packs a much more powerful 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU.

In addition, the Lumia 1520 boasts an incredible 20-megapixel PureView camera on the back, which features Carl Zeiss optics, dual-LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while the much cheaper Lumia 1320 features only a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.

On the inside, the Lumia 1320 packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, but users will be able to further expand internal memory via microSD memory card (up to 64GB).

It is also worth mentioning that the phablet drains energy from a non-removable 3400 mAh battery, which should provide about 670 hours of standby time or up to 25 hours of talk time (21 hours in 3G mode).

Nokia Lumia 1320 ships with Windows Phone 8 operating system out of the box, but users can opt in for Developer Preview and install the latest Windows Phone 8.1 version of the platform on their devices.
