14 DAY TRIAL // We reported earlier today that Microsoft India confirmed that Nokia Lumia 520 would start receiving the long-awaited Lumia Cyan update within the next 10 days.
This means that owners of the best-selling Windows Phone handset on the market, the Lumia 520, should start checking their smartphones for the update next week beginning August 13.
The company mentioned that Lumia Cyan update might arrive as early as next week, but did not offer an exact release date, which is why we will keep an eye out for any additional details regarding this matter.
Along with the Lumia Cyan update for Nokia Lumia 520, Microsoft India also confirmed that owners of Lumia 1020 smartphones should prepare for the same update as well.
The good news is Lumia Cyan for Nokia Lumia 1020 will be rolled out beginning tomorrow, August 8. However, keep in mind that due to the fact that the update is released gradually, it may take some time until it reaches all Lumia 1020 devices in India.
In the same piece of news, Microsoft also confirms its engineers are now testing the update for Nokia Lumia 920. This means that Lumia Cyan may also arrive on this device by the end of the month.
Until then though, Nokia Lumia 1020 owners should start enjoying the new features and improvements included in the Cyan update, which is supposed to be available starting tomorrow. Speaking of which, here is a quick rundown of the new features included in Lumia Cyan.
First of all, you will get improved versions of Nokia software, including Nokia Camera, Storyteller and Creative Studio. All the features included in the Cyan update are exclusively available on Lumia smartphones.
Moreover, depending on the hardware, some new features or improvements may or may not be available after applying the Lumia Cyan update.
Anyway, Lumia Cyan includes a brand new Nokia Camera application, which comes with several nifty features such as “Living Images” and the option to manually capture exactly what you want.
The Nokia Storyteller will also be installed on the Lumia smartphones. The application can be used by Windows Phone fans to group all photos, videos and cinemagraphs in stories. These so-called stories can be then customized and shared with friends.
With Nokia Creative Studio, Lumia owners will be able to take advantage of a wide range of filters and effects for their photos. You will also be able to adjust brightness, vividness and clarity of a picture.
