Nokia Lumia 1020, the next flagship camera phone from the Finnish mobile phone maker, which was spotted before under the codename of Nokia EOS (or Elvis for AT&T’s flavor), has emerged online in a leaked press photo that confirms its large 41-megapixel camera.

The new device will certainly prove a great option for all those looking for great imaging capabilities inside their handsets, although nothing has been officially confirmed on it until now.

Nokia is set to announce the new mobile phone on July 11, during a press event in New York City, where it will unveil the full details on its hardware specifications, but we can already learn some more details on what it will sport, courtesy of a leak that emerged over at WPCentral.

Nokia Lumia 1020 will arrive on shelves at least in three color flavors, namely yellow, black, and white, and will also feature Xenon and LED flash attached to the 41MP camera.

As one would expect from such a device, users will be provided with imaging capabilities that no other flagship handset out there can offer at the moment, including the ability to shoot photos at 32MP and 5MP at the same time in 16:9.

Apparently, the 5MP image is oversampled by dropping 7 pixels into one “super pixel,” and there is also the option to shoot 38MP photos in 4:3 aspect ratio.

The upcoming device will also include 2GB of RAM, twice the amount of RAM available inside Nokia’s current flagship handset, as well as 32GB of internal memory. Interestingly though, the phone is said to arrive on shelves without a microSD memory card slot.

Running under Windows Phone 8 build number 8.0.10322.71, the phone will also sport FM radio and Flip-to-Silence capabilities (both part of the Nokia Amber update), as well as NFC capabilities, and support for wireless charging backplates, which are optional.

Nokia Lumia 1020 is also said to pack built-in optical image stabilization (OIS), as well as a new camera application, supposedly called Pro Camera, which comes with advanced settings such as White Balance, Manual focus, Shutter speed, and Flash.

Rumor has it that the new Windows Phone 8 handset will land on shelves at AT&T before the end of the month, with Microsoft’s Stores set to receive shipments on July 22 and actual sales expected later that week.

Nokia is said to plan the launch of the new device in other markets around the world as well, with the UK supposedly confirmed to receive it, but specific info on this will emerge only on Thursday, so stay tuned.
