Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has finally made official its plans for the release of the Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Phone 8 smartphone in Indonesia.

The handset is now available for purchase in the country with a price tag of IDR 7,999,000 ($667/€490) attached to it, via both Nokia Stores and the Erafone Online Store.

Furthermore, the company announced that there was an IDR 500,000 ($41/€30) discount applied to the smartphone, which is meant to make it even more appealing to users in this country.

Users who would like to purchase the device on a monthly contract will be able to choose from various packages that Simpati offers to them.

As Nokianesia notes, one of the bundles includes 6GB of data for 3 months (2GB/month), 300 mins (100 mins/month) of voice, 300 units (100 units/month) of SMS.

Nokia’s smartphones are seeing increased traction around the world, and their availability in more countries will certainly help Windows Phone grab some more market share.

Nokia Lumia 1020 arrives on shelves with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a 768 x 1280 pixels resolution and that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, as well as with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor inside, with Adreno 225 graphics.

The handset also packs 2GB of RAM inside, along with 32 GB of internal memory, but has no microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

On the back, the mobile phone features a 41-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon & LED flash, and full HD video recording capabilities, along with a front camera for video calling.

The specifications list of the Windows Phone 8 handset also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity, HSDPA, 42.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps, LTE, GPS receiver, and NFC.
