Today, Nokia made the Lumia 1020 official in India, and it seems that users have jumped on the device as soon as it emerged at online retailers in the country.

One of them, Snapdeal, has reportedly sold out the first batch of Lumia 1020 units soon after it put them on pre-order.

The company is currently listing the phone as expected to arrive in the first week of October, which would be a bit sooner than Nokia’s official October 11 release date.

However, users who would like to grab the smartphone through this retailer are out of luck. Regardless of whether it resides to the Black, White, or Yellow version of the device, they won’t be able to reserve it anymore.

Other retailers in the country also added the Windows Phone 8 handset to their online portals, though they are currently listing it as coming soon.

As WPCentral notes, this includes Flipkart and Saholic, which have yet to unveil a specific date when the smartphone will be up for order. HomeShop18, on the other hand, will add it to their offering on October 1.

Chances are that Nokia has delivered only a small amount of Lumia 1020 units to Indian retailers, and that the fact that the device is already running out of stock is a result of this state of facts.

Nokia hasn’t provided specific info on the price tag that Nokia 1020 will feature when made available for purchase, though it confirmed that such details would be offered on October 10.

Lumia 1020 hits the market with a 4.5-inch screen, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor inside, and 2GB of RAM. It also sports 32GB of internal memory, and the usual set of connectivity sensors packed inside.

Furthermore, the smartphone packs a 41-megapixel camera on the back, capable of recording full HD videos. The Windows Phone 8 handset also features a front camera for making video calls while on the go.
