The 7310, 7510 and 7610 SuperNova phones disappeared from Nokia's websites

Nokia has been showing off three new handsets lately, part of a new S40 series of phones that has a "very cosmic" name. The handsets are 7310 SuperNova, 7510 SuperNova and 7610 SuperNova, all of them being mid-end devices created to offer a simple mobile experience to end users. All good until now, but the problem is that, although the new handsets were presented on two of Nokia's official websites (the one from Hong Kong and the one from Poland), they have been removed almost immediately after their images and features were uploaded.

The two logical explanations for the appearance and sudden disappearance of the three SuperNovas are: either Nokia wants to delay their release or it wants to completely cancel the commercial availability of the phones, for who knows what reasons. The delaying of the handsets, however, can be done even if their features and images are available on the Web. Therefore, the fact that all the details about the phones were withdrawn from the official Nokia websites might mean that the SuperNova series will actually never get to be launched. This although the 7310 model was spotted live on several occasions, even if it was named 7310 Classic and not 7310 SuperNova.

Sure, both the above suppositions can prove to be wrong. But then, the removal of the SuperNovas would have another explanation, which should be made public by Nokia in the near future.

The Czech website iDNES suggests that the launch of the three new handsets might have been affected by the recent earthquake from China, where Nokia manufactures an important share of its products. Since no one can say for the moment if this is true or not, all we can do is wait for Nokia to unveil the mystery behind the disappearance of the SuperNovas. We hope the handsets will be released in the end, as they all seemed pretty nice.
