Espoo, Finland-based mobile phone maker Nokia announced today the launch of three new devices, namely the Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and Nokia E5. According to the company, all three new phones are meant to offer an enhanced messaging and social-networking experience to users at affordable prices. All three handsets come with full QWERTY keyboards, and offer fast access to email accounts, IM and social networks.

“Our messaging device range is very successful,” Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia's head of markets, said. “Services that provide easy access to the world's consumer and corporate email and instant messaging are really popular on our QWERTY smartphones such as the Nokia E71 and Nokia E63. People want the best messaging and social networking experience on an affordable device, whether it's sending a simple text or instant message, an email, or a direct message from their Twitter account. The Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and Nokia E5 are made for just that.”

The Nokia C3 sports a full QWERTY keyboard in a candybar form factor, runs under Symbian S40, and offers access to social networks straight from the homescreen. The handset boasts a color, 2.4-inch screen, a 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a memory card slot with support for up to 8GB of additional storage space, as well as Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat. The phone is expected to hit the shelves in the second quarter of 2010 in various colors, with a price tag of EUR 90, before taxes and subsidies.

The Nokia C6 comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and flash, and offers access to Facebook feeds directly from the homescreen. The handset includes a series of other features too, namely a full suite of email and social-networking capabilities, Ovi Maps with free walk and drive navigation, and access to the Ovi Store. Set for release in the second quarter of the ongoing year, the Nokia C6 should sport a price tag of EUR 220, before taxes and subsidies.

The Nokia E5 is the latest addition to the company's Eseries range. It builds on the success of handsets like the Nokia E72 and Nokia E63, Nokia states, adding that the device provides a wide range of business features, combined with personal networking and entertainment capabilities. With access to the Ovi Store and support for Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler, the Nokia E5 should arrive on the market in the third quarter of 2010, priced at EUR 180, before taxes and subsidies.
