Worldwide leading mobile phone maker Nokia announced today the launch of a new, exclusive application for its users, the Rihanna App. The new software solution, which is available for download over at the Ovi Store, is meant to bring fans closer to the singer, and will deliver news, music, photos and exclusive video content straight to some of the company's multimedia-enabled handsets like the Nokia N97, Nokia X6 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

The handset vendor noted that “video content available through the App will include live performance videos from Rihanna's album launch event. Additionally, fans can access music samples, a Rihanna biography and photo library, and, when available, information on Rihanna's forthcoming 2010 tour. The App content will be unavailable elsewhere and will be regularly updated for fans.”

The new application also comes around with a direct link to the company's music retail service, the Nokia Music Store. Here, fans will find exclusive album content available for download on Nokia devices, including Nokia bonus track, Hole In My Head, which has been written and produced by Justin Timberlake, the company stated.

Users might also want to learn that, “in addition, an exclusive Donni Hotwheels remix of Rihanna's smash single, Russian Roulette, is also available to those who download her album, Rated R, exclusively via the Nokia Music Store.” The album is available from the music portal along with the exclusive remix, and with a bonus track, the company added.

As many of you might already know, Rihanna performed exclusively with Nokia on November 16 a number of tracks that are available on her new album. The list of songs performed also included popular titles like Umbrella and Disturbia, and Nokia further notes that the performance has been streamed live all around the world for Rihanna's fans who were also able to enjoy live Twitter commentary.
