Nokia has just announced the launch of the N92 mobile phone in India. This is the first DVB-H enabled handset capable of providing LIVE Broadcast Mobile TV.

The main advantage that Nokia N92 has to offer when compared to similar mobile phones is that it can provide high quality Mobile TV. Not only that, but this is the first mobile phone to came with DVB-H capabilities.

Even the design of the Nokia N92 handset is meant to provide more efficient mobile TV services. The clamshell phone is capable of rotating in order to easily change form a vertical display to a horizontal one, which is very efficient in providing the best video quality even on a flip phone.

Nokia's decision of choosing India as an expansion market came as a result of their fast development and high sales rates which have been registered there until now. Even more, the mobile phone market in India is expected to reach almost 350 million by 2010 and Nokia wants its share of this.

"Television viewing has come a long way with close to 500 million viewers in the country today. With growing popularity of mobile devices and its capability to offer instant access to information and entertainment, this initiative will bring in the perfect synergy between television content and the mobile platform", said Nokia Director Multimedia Vineet Taneja. Indeed, television is probably the most profitable industry in this country and has many viewers around the world. By introducing it to the mobile phone world, Nokia brings a high-tech touch to TV, which might prove to be highly appealing to many people.

Nokia N92 will be available from now on in India too for an estimate price of 600 euros. The official launch for this mobile phone has taken place towards the end of 2005, but it is still reaching new markets.
