Espoo, Finland-based mobile phone maker Nokia announced today the launch of the Ovi Store football channel, which includes a wide range of apps, entertainment and info from recognized football content providers, as well as exclusive Pepsi content. According to the company, the channel is meant to leverage the global reach of Ovi Store to provide Nokia football fans worldwide with popular and refreshing mobile football content.

The Ovi Store football channel was launched today as the ultimate football fan destination, as it includes popular applications and games, along with the possibility to easily customize the Nokia handset. Moreover, the channel will include Pepsi's charity football anthem 'Oh Africa', which will be offered for sale via the Ovi Music Store too. Not to mention that users will be able to access Pepsi's football athlete themes and wallpapers, available for free at Ovi.com.

Additionally, Nokia announced the launch of Nokia Skill Dribbler competition, meant to offer mobile gamers the possibility “to win a Football trip of a lifetime for two to see 'El Clasico' in Barcelona.” Those interested will have to show their football game skills, keeping control of the ball as long as possible to receive points. Nokia's Ovi Store football channel will include content dedicated to 2010's summer of football too.
