Hot on the heels of the market release of its Treasure Tag accessory, Nokia has announced the availability of a similar product, in the form of Nokia Treasure Tag Mini.

The new accessory functions the same as the original but was designed with a smaller body, as well as without some of the features that were include in the first Treasure Tag.

To be more precise, the new Treasure Tag Mini does not include NFC capabilities, which means that it won’t be as easy as before to connect it to a smartphone.

However, this also allowed Nokia to launch the new product with a smaller footprint, as it is only 5.85mm thick.

“The Nokia Treasure Tag Mini is a lot thinner than the previous version (it's now only 5.85 mm thick). And it's lighter too. Attaching a Treasure Tag Mini to your belongings is easier than ever - use the strap, a key ring or be creative and invent your own way of attaching a Treasure Tag,” Nokia notes on its website.

As mentioned above, the new product will deliver the same capabilities as the original one, allowing users to easily keep track of various belongings at ease.

“The Nokia Treasure Tag Mini is an affordable way to keep track of the things you care about. Spend less money to get the peace of mind that comes with knowing where your important possessions are - buying a Nokia Treasure Tag Mini is less expensive than you think,” Nokia notes.

Using the Nokia Treasure Tag Mini is very easy. All that users will need to do is to connect it to an object and then pair it with the smartphone. All items that have been tagged will appear on a map, making it easy to find them when needed.

Furthermore, the Nokia Treasure Tag Mini will send notifications to the smartphone when the object it has been attached to is about to be left behind.

The new accessory comes with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, which makes it compatible with a wide range of devices, including Windows Phone, iOS, and Android ones.

There is also a Nokia Treasure Tag application that needs to be installed on handsets, which will make it easy for users to find their things, and which will receive regular updates, Nokia explains.

Nokia Treasure Tag mini measures 30mm x 30mm x 5.8mm and weighs 6.2 grams. Its Bluetooth 4.0 radio has a range of 40 meters, while the 70mAh CR2016 (5000LC) battery inside it can offer up to 120 days of standby time.
