Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has just announced the release of a new affordable device, the Nokia C5-03, featuring a touchscreen display in a candybar form factor. All the features that handsets sport these days have been packed inside this phone, and some others more to make the experience more appealing.

Packing a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, the new mobile phone also comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with 4X digital zoom, but with no flash included in the package.

Other specifications of the new device also include Wi-Fi connectivity options, with the possibility to offer fast Internet navigation, without having to commit to a data plan, as well as GPS receiver, and more.

“It also features a compass and assisted GPS for use with the latest version of the free Ovi Maps hands-free navigation service, now featuring public transport support and location sharing through social networks,” a recent article on Nokia Conversations notes.

Moreover, the new device offers users the possibility to put what's most important to them straight on the handset's homescreen, including favorite contacts, so as to call, message or chat with them much easier.

“The Nokia C5-03 allows for easy email set-up – either an existing webmail or POP3 provider through Nokia messaging. For business users, there’s also the option of Mail for Exchange,” the said post continues.

The Nokia C5-03 also supports Ovi Mail, which can be easily set up on any Nokia handset with support for the feature, not to mention that it offers access to Ovi Music and the Ovi Store, so that one can download songs or various content straight on the handset.

The new device sports 40MB of user memory, complemented by a MicroSD memory card slot with support fort up to 16GB of additional storage space, while its battery can deliver up to 11.5 hours of talk time, or up to 24-25 days of standby time.

Measuring 105.8 mm x 51.0 mm x 13.8 mm and weighing in at 93g (similar in size with C6-01, it seems), the handset runs under Symbian^1 (the S60 5th edition touch-edition OS).

One more thing that we should note on Nokia C5-03 is that it should arrive in two-tone colour schemes, which would become available in both bold and restrained flavors. The photos below should offer more info on the matter.

The new mobile phone is expected become available for purchase before the end of the year with a price tag of €170 attached to it (before taxes or operator subsidies).
