Three new affordable Nokia devices are now official, straight from the Nokia Connection conference in Singapore, namely the Nokia C2-02, Nokia C2-03 and Nokia C2-06.

All three are Series 40-powered feature phones, and come to the market with Nokia Maps, the first such handsets to include Nokia's location service. Local maps and places of interest will be pre-installed on devices.

These mobile phones come with enhanced Internet browsing capabilities, provided by the Nokia Browser, which sports data compression technology that cuts down the costs of surfing and increasing the browsing speed.

Moreover, the browser was designed to load with a localized start page, so that the user would receive instant access to relevant content. It also offers tabbed browsing.

Mary McDowell, the head of Nokia's Mobile Phones business unit, said: “These phones all offer a web, maps and messaging experience second to none in the market.”

“And with the choice of a touch screen or a keypad, we really have made everything available and easy to use in an affordable phone that comes in both Dual or single SIM options.”

The Nokia C2-02 and C2-03 feature a similar set of capabilities, although the latter is a dual-SIM device.

The C2-02 comes with push messaging options and with support for a wide range of IM providers, as well as with stereo FM radio, media player and memory support.

The Nokia C2-03 is the third handset from Nokia to come with Dual-SIM capabilities, with support for personalizing a number of up to five SIM cards.

The Nokia C2-06 arrives on shelves in various colors, smooth finish, Nokia Maps for Series 40, and support for memory cards of up to 32GB.

“We want the web to be easy to access, fast and affordable for all,” Mary McDowell also noted.

“The technology behind the Nokia Browser means that consumers, especially those new to the mobile Internet, can get the information they need quickly, as the Nokia Browser serves up relevant local content - making the whole experience more personal and enjoyable.”

Nokia C2-02 and C2-03 should arrive on the market with a price tag of around EUR 75 (USD 105), while the Nokia C2-06 is expected to be priced at EUR 80 (USD 112). All three should be launched during the third quarter of 2011.
