Nokia has just announced that will start pushing its brand new Ovi Browser to all S40 mobile phones on the market. After the beta testing closed a little while ago, the Finnish giant decided to take the next step in releasing the commercial version of the app, which is slated for the next year.

The new Ovi Browser is available for free and can be downloaded directly on the mobile phone by accessing http://browser.ovi.com.

Especially developed to target the emerging markets, where Nokia dominates, the new Ovi Browser will be available for all Nokia phones, not only for those running the S40 UI.

Ovi Browser works pretty much like Opera Mini, as it compresses and optimizes the web pages for as less data as possible to lower the costs.

Web pages are loading much faster and users will get more browsing for their money with data savings compression levels that they choose.

Further, Nokia also revealed the top country for users that are making use of the web browsing without owning a smartphone: India, followed by Indonesia and Vietnam.

Pretty much normal, as these are the main emerging markets where Nokia has been voted as the most trustful brand, and dominates the market.

The new Browser for Ovi is available to download on popular Nokia Series 40 phones including: 2700 Classic, 2730 Classic, 3120 Classic, 3600 Slide, 5130 XpressMusic, 5220 Xpressmusic, 5310 XpressMusic, 5330 Mobile TV Edition, 5330 Xpressmusic, 5610, 6300i, 6303, 6500 Slide, 6500 Classic, 6600 Slide, 6700 Classic, 7210 Supernova, 7900 Prism and X3.

The handset manufacturer also stated that is preparing for a commercial release early next year, and that the browser will see improvements along the way.

Also, it seems that the new browser for Ovi will be pre-installed on many Nokia Series 40 phones beginning in 2011.
