According to the latest news on the Web, Nokia India has unveiled a number of free applications for the newly-released Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, which are expected to help the phone see a good launch on the market. The applications are six in number, namely SMS Timer, Smart Guard, Marble Maze, Wave Secure, Card Memory and Touch Maneuver.

SMS Timer is a simple utility that allows users to schedule SMS/MMS messages to be sent at a certain future date and time. Anniversary messages can be scheduled to be sent on a specific day, and the same goes for messages to friends who live in a different time zone. At the same time, users can schedule a regular check of their account balance.

Smart Guard comes as an application designed to protect all your private information, which would include messages, contacts or media files, as well as other important personal data. The application can work both for the internal memory of the phone and for the external memory card.

Marble Maze is a labyrinth game that uses the built-in orientation sensor of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, and which offers 40 different labyrinths that need be solved, as well as 3 different types of balls: a metal ball, a rubber ball, and a super pingpong ball.

WaveSecure has been developed to help users track a lost phone while also ensure the security of the data. Card Memory is reported to be a classic title that sports a “superb audio visual interface with engaging graphics and touch control,” while Touch Maneuver comes as a virtual version of the classic “Don’t touch the wire game,” which includes multiple levels with increased difficulties.

According to the news, the SMS Timer and Smart Guard apps would work on all 5800 handsets, while the rest of them can only be used by those who own an Indian SIM card. Besides India, it seems that Hong Kong will also see all these applications come to users for free. More information on the new offer can be found on the company's site.
