With a great deal of bug fixes

Nokia E75 is the latest mobile phone from the Finnish handset vendor Nokia to have received an update for its firmware. The device hasn't been updated for quite a long time, it seems, yet now its owners can enjoy software version 201.12.01, which follows the previously available firmware 110.x. There are a wide range of improvements, as well as new features and a great deal of bug fixes the new update brings forth, so all for the better, it seems.

According to the guys over at All About Symbian, the release notes for firmware 201.12.01 for Nokia E75 include the following: - Ovi Contacts now integrated - Facebook, YouTube and MySpace shortcuts in Applications folder (depending on market) - N-Gage client updated - Calendar speed improvements and synchronisation bug fixes - Share online client updated - QWERTY keyboard optimizations to increase accuracy - Nokia Messaging client updated - Contacts speed improvements - Web update to next-gen browser, v7.1 - faster, smoother - Overall S60 UI speed improvements - Quickoffice updated to v5.3, with Office 2007 support (v6.0 Quickoffice Premier is a free upgrade within the app)

Those who would like to perform the update to the new software version for E75 will be able to do so via the Nokia Software Updater. The new firmware flavor weighs in 153MB, and can not be downloaded over the air, it seems, at least not in the UK. However, changes and availability might vary according to the country users are in.

One other thing that should be noted here is that one should make sure all important files on the device are backed up before the update process is started, just to make sure that nothing important is lost, even if the handset sports User Data Preservation. According to All About Symbian, one should also take into consideration the possibility of wiping the phone clean before updating (but after the backup) through typing *#7370# on the homescreen, and then restoring all settings from the backup.
