The giant mobile-phone manufacturer Nokia has launched the Nokia E73 Mode smartphone in the United States. This is the first new Eseries device made especially for a United States carrier and it will be available exclusively for T-Mobile customers. Intended to be a cross-over device, the E73 Mode includes Nokia’s unique Switch Mode feature, which enables users to switch between entirely customizable home screens that help promote a work-life balance.

“T-Mobile is committed to providing a variety of devices that serve our customers’ needs to stay connected to the central people in their lives including family, friends and even colleagues from the office,” Travis Warren, director, product marketing, T-Mobile USA, said. “With the Nokia E73 Mode, we’re excited to offer a premium device at an attractive price that helps Mom and Dad put work aside and make their family the top priority.”

Based on the Nokia E72, which was released last year, the E73 Mode has undergone a few cosmetic and 3G band adjustments in order to fully suite T-Mobile's network. The QWERTY mono-block keyboard, full HTML browser, Wi-Fi connectivity and T-Mobile's fast 3G network make the Nokia E73 a very suitable business-oriented device.

The E73 Mode runs the S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 and sports a 5-megapixel camera with flash and autofocus, integrated GPS, WiFi for voice and data, Bluetooth connectivity and a 1500 mAh battery. The device comes with a wide array of services and applications designed to make the phone more versatile. Some of the applications include: Ovi Maps, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, IBM Lotus Traveler and also access to sites like Bloomberg or Saleforce. With business productivity tools such as Ovi Files, Adobe PDF Manager, QuickOffice and ZIP Manager, files can be sent, viewed or edited directly from the device, allowing customers to be more productive.

The Nokia E73 Mode is expected to become available for T-Mobile customers starting with June 16th.
