Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has recently released a new version of one of its latest business-oriented smartphones, the Nokia E72, namely a model dressed up in purple. Nokia's Eseries handsets have been some of the most successful devices from the company, and the availability of a purple Nokia E72 seems set to show that this mobile phone is also an increasingly popular option for customers around the world.

The Nokia E72, as most of you might already know, is the successor of Nokia E71, and comes with about the same functionality as the predecessor. However, the newer device includes a faster processor, as well as an optical trackpad, not to mention a sleek design, and can offer an enhanced experience to users. And with a new color scheme added to the already existing palette, users should find the device even more appealing than before.

The specifications list of the phone includes a QWERTY keyboard, a 2.36-inch display that boasts a 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA) resolution and support for up to 16.7 million colors, and a 5 megapixel camera, as well as support for a wide range of connectivity options, including HSDPA, HSUPA, WCDMA, GPRS class A, EGSM class A, and WLAN 802.11b and 802.11g, not to mention Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, Micro-USB connector and 3.5 mm Nokia audio connector.

The Nokia E72 runs under the Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 (S60 3.2.3) operating system, features support for mobile email (support for Nokia Messaging with the possibility to mobilize up to 10 email accounts), SMS, MMS and IM (Windows (MSN) Live, OMA IM, Presence, Ovi Contacts), Internet browser, integrated GPS, A-GPS receivers, Nokia Maps 3.0, audio and video players, stereo FM radio, and more.

At the same time, the handset comes with a hot swappable MicroSD memory card slot, with support for up to 16 GB of additional storage space. The Nokia E72, including the new color version, can be seen on Nokia's European website here.
