The Nokia E71x, one of the most beautiful handsets unveiled by the Finnish maker, has been reported a while ago to be heading for the AT&T shelves. The model is stated to be an all-black version, as the one spotted back in December on few sites, and the latest news shows the AT&T-branded variant as coming to meet its users.

The news points towards a close official release of the rare device, as it is reported to have already made an appearance on eBay. The only problem here would be the fact that AT&T has nothing to do with it. Those willing to lay their hands on the slim QWERTY handset in the shortest while possible should just take a look at eBay. As many of you might already know, a Nokia E71 unbranded with a T-Mobile contract discount is already available for purchase on Best Buy.

Today's news shows that the AT&T branded E71x comes from a seller in Grand Prairie, which is supposedly close to Nokia’s U.S. offices in Irving. The device is displayed for auction on eBay, and the bid was up to $370, at the time this article was written. There are, whatsoever, not many pieces of information regarding neither the device, nor on the packaging included.

For now, the fact that the handset is there on auction is suggested to point towards two different directions. While hoping that this is not the case, it may mean that AT&T could be on the brink of pulling the device back. On the other hand, as stated above, the phone might soon get released on the market, something that would make a lot of users rejoice. Not to mention that the carrier's offering will be added to another great device.

If you're into getting the new Nokia E71x for yourself, head to the eBay site to make a bid.

I have one of these little gems, and I love it!
This phone is just plain beautiful. And powerful. The wifi is super. Tho you will do better, especially at first if you have them block the internet from your phone , as it does continually try to have you do your internet browsing thru the AT&T internet connection, or even better from their side of things, the AT&T 3g network.

Just getting things like the news, or applications from Nokia cost me $200 in charges only internet charges! Not good. This month I will be restricted to only wifi for intenet. So I do have to wait a bit until I can find a WiFi net when traveling. However it's a 811b,g,n ( I think that's right. ) So unless everyone in the world has learned to secure their wireless , network *and* they do it it wont be too bad.

I still have the damned test messages and even the multimedia messages, in case anyone is worried, if you block the internet on this phone, it just means you don't go thru the AT&T network. This little tip, on this type of phone can save you a lot!
Oh yeah, when you do every internet thing thru your own or a hotel's wifi net, you can do anything internetwise, even email then goes thru the wireless component of the phone! Whooo! Whoop! In this financial climate anything you can save is a help.

It's still a steel case, and tho tiny feels pretty substantial. One doesn't worry about dropping it and having the case broken. If you are around crowds of people or children of the excitable ones, or various types of dogs.. especially those which feel the need to jump up on you. My daughter says that is to let me know they are aware of me, and wish me to know that. ( whatever, I'd prefer to see them better trained. ) Still, any of those settings can raise havoc w/ a phone in a largely plastic case, but not w/ the Nokia.

If you get one unlocked all you need to do is let them know you are changind phones and put your old sim card in.And speaking of those,It also takes up to 8GB mini sim card, so you really can backup everything. It's also really easy to put pics, music ( ring tones) even video clips, esp those from Youtube. ( I have a couple of Moa Asada winning the free skate& World Championship title last year.)

All in all, I'd say grab it if you can find one. If you are thinking of getting one on ebay , do carefully read the info they give you, and make certain you can return it if it's not 100%. It'll go well past the 2 year deal on AT&T.
