Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has just released into the wild a new software version for one of its most popular handset available on the market, the Nokia E71. The new version of device's firmware is 400.21.013, and it is said to come around with a wide range of fixes, as well as with improved support for Nokia Email / Messaging, and with a pre-installed version of Ovi Contacts.

The new software version for Nokia E71 is available for those willing to update their handsets through the Nokia Software Updater, and should also deliver a series of smaller improvements to apps like the Quickoffice, Ovi Store, Email Setup Wizard, and Mail for Exchange, as well as enhancements to the phone's Internet radio, and numerous other stability and bug fixes.

According to the guys over at All About Symbian, the Ovi Contacts app that comes pre-loaded with the new firmware update is only a basic flavor of the software solution, while the Ovi Store client on the Nokia E71 is much faster than before. Moreover, it seems that significant improvements have been delivered for the email functionality of the handset, with a more stable Nokia Messaging and an improved email setup process.

Those who would like to take a look at the complete release notes for the new firmware version 400.21.013 for the Nokia E71 will find it available here. One thing that should be noted here is that users should consider backing up all of their data on the handset before proceeding with the update process, so as to make sure that no important files are lost.

Additionally, we should mention that Nokia has recently released a Facebook application for its Nokia E71 and E72 devices. The S60 3rd Edition Facebook widget is available for download for users of one of the mentioned devices, and those who would like to learn some details on it, and also to have a look at some screenshots with it, should head here.
