Rumors about Nokia E71 appeared right at the beginning of 2008, saying that the new Eseries handset will hit the market somewhere in the second quarter of the year. There is even a mockup image of the phone, plus a picture that seems to be presenting the real handset. Moreover, a leaked Vodafone Roadmap gave us some clues about the features that Nokia E71 will bring (together with info about another Eseries device, the E66 model).

Now, the Web is once again bringing details about E71, as it looks like Nokia officials discussed about the phone during an event held in Australia - which means the handset could even be released faster than everyone expects.

Until now, the leaked details about E71 show a worthy successor of Nokia E61i, a smartphone that got a great feedback from users since it was launched, back in 2007. Nokia E71 will apparently offer quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE connectivity, plus 3G with HSDPA for data transfer speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps. Furthermore, the device will bring a 320 x 320 pixels display, a 3.2 Megapixel camera, secondary camera for video calls (E61i lacks this feature), Wi-Fi, built-in GPS and microSD card support for increasing the memory up to 8GB. Of course, Nokia E71 has a full QWERTY keypad too, as the E61i and E61 models, and even if it packs lots of advanced features, it will be a slim handset, coming with a thickness of only 10 millimeters.

There are no other details regarding Nokia E71 for the moment, but let's hope the business phone will be showcased at the 2008 edition of CeBIT held in Hanover, Germany between 4 and 9 March. Softpedia will be there to bring you pictures and details, so stay close for lots of exclusive materials.
