Nokia E71, one of the two new Eseries smartphones recently unveiled by Nokia, is already on sale, although the Finnish company said the handset would hit the market in July. Unfortunately,
the E71 is available only in Singapore for the moment, from several retail stores. There are even online stores that sell the smartphone (this one, for example), for prices of around 720 Singapore dollars - the equivalent of $530 or 335 Euros.

Officially presented on the 16th of June, together with the E66, Nokia E71 is the smartphone rolled-out to replace the popular E61i, which is now more than one year old. The new E71 comes with all the features packed in the previous Eseries and even more. Plus, it has a nicer design and a thinner body - at 114 x 57 x 10 millimeters, E71 is among the slimmest smarpthones ever.

The features of Nokia E71 include: quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) and dual-band HSDPA connectivity, Symbian 9.2 S60 3rd Edition, a 2.36 inch TFT display with 320 x 240 pixels and 16 million colors, a full QWERTY keypad, Wi-Fi, GPS and A-GPS, a document

viewer and editor, push to talk, HTML browser, push email with one-touch access, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Music and Video player, FM radio, microUSB 2.0, 110MB of built-in memory (expandable with up to another 8GB) and a powerful 1500 mAh battery said to last up to 10.5 hours in talk-time mode and up to 410 hours in stand-by mode. The smartphone also packs a nice 3.15 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and video recording, as well as a front-facing camera for video calls.

Since the E71 can already be purchased in Singapore, we should expect the smartphone to be available at the beginning of July in other global markets too (Europe and/or North America). The E66 slider will most probably come out at the same time, hence users in need of high-end business-oriented handsets will have two nice options to choose from.

Thanks for the news. The interested community were guessing what the actual price of E71 will be, though Nokia Officials said that it may be about €350. The price quoted in the news appears to be on higher side, considering the poor multimedea of the phone! But let's hope that Nokia will bring down the price soon!
