Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is gearing up for the opening of its Nokia World event in London next week, and rumors on a series of new devices being set for launch there, including the E7 smartphone, have made it into the wild.

According to the latest news around the Internet, the company would plan the launch of at least two smarphone models at the event, including the E7 and another new device.

While little is known on the second mobile phone, a series of details on what the new E7 handset might include did surface.

Among the most interesting pieces of info on this, we can count the fact that the E7 should run under the Symbian^3 operating system, while being the first Eseries device to include a touchscreen display.

While there is little doubt that Nokia would launch new handsets at the Nokia World event, for it usually does so, the capabilities of the E7 remain only in the rumor side for the time being.

However, the guys over at Engadget note in a recent article that the handset might be one and the same mysterious Nokia Symbian^3 slider that made it into the wild a few times back in June.

A XML file on Nokia's website shows that the E7-00 device should pack a 640 x 360 pixel display, as well as a QWERTY keyboard, which would be in line with what was rumored on the phone back in June.

Interestingly enough, the E7 should turn into another slider that Nokia is set to bring to the market with the Symbian^3 OS on board, it seems, in addition to the rumored C7.

For the time being, nothing is certain on the launch of the new handset, but it shouldn't be too long before specific details on it start to emerge, so stay tuned for more on this.

We should also note that Nokia World is expected to bring forth some official info on when the Nokia N8 smartphone should hit the shelves.
