Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has just put on pre-order status on the UK market the latest smartphone that runs under its Symbian^3 operating system, the Nokia E7.

On the handset vendor's website, the new device sports a price tag of £499 SIM free, but can also be purchased on contract, for free on plans that start at £35 per month, or on a Pay As You Go basis, with a price tag of £469 attached to it.

The new Nokia E7 is a business-oriented Symbian^3-powered smartphone from the leading handset vendor. It combines a large 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen with ClearBlack display with a sliding QWERTY keypad, and an 8-megapixel photo snapper with HD video recording capabilities.

The new device comes with 16GB of internal memory, and Nokia notes that it also supports microSD memory cards for expanding the available storage space.

Other specifications of the new mobile phone would include 3.5G / 3G internet and Wi-Fi mobile Internet, Bluetooth capabilities, as well as built-in GPS receiver, with support for Ovi Maps, which provides users with free lifetime navigation and turn-by-turn voice guidance.

Other features of the new device would include:

- USB on the Go: Plug in your memory stick to access any of your files - Instant Facebook and Twitter updates direct to your home screen - QuickOffice lets you view PDF files and edit MS-Office documents on the go - Real time push email - access work and personal emails from the same view - Use an HDMI cable to view HD videos and images on your compatible TV - Web TV for top quality entertainment on the go - Download mobile apps from the Ovi Store

The new mobile was unveiled back in September last year, and was expected to arrive on shelves sometime in December 2010, but Nokia pushed its release date a few months back.

In the UK, Nokia E7 should be put on sale at the end of April, but users can already head over to Nokia's website here to pre-order the device.
