Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is nearing the official availability of its Nokia E7, the high-end Symbian^3 mobile phone that became official in September last year, and got pushed back from the initial expected launch window of December 2010. Although it delayed the Nokia E7, the handset vendor did not offer specific info on when it might become available for purchase until now, when it put the handset on pre-order in Finland via its website.

However, only Finnish users are offered the possibility to pre-order the device for the time being, while others would have to wait a little more before the device becomes available for purchase for them as well. The Nokia E7 was put on pre-order at Nokia Finland with a price tag of €599 ($796) attached to it, and is offered SIM-free and unlocked.

Unfortunately, the company does not specify a release date for the new mobile phone, but the fact that it made it available for pre-order suggests that it might not be too long before the actual launch would take place.

Currently, users in other markets who are interested in the purchase of this mobile phone are offered the possibility to register their interest to receive an email when Nokia makes it available for purchase for them too.

If we're to believe some of the latest rumors on this handset, Nokia should make it available for purchase come February 16th, soon after the Mobile World Congress kicks off in Barcelona.

However, no confirmation on this emerged, and we should wait for Nokia to make a formal announcement on this to learn more on the matter.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Nokia E7 is expected to land on shelves as the bigger brother of Nokia N8, while also being the first Symbian^3 smartphone that packs a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

The phone's specs would also include a 4 inch AMOLED display, an 8-megapixel camera with HD video recording, HDMI connectivity, 16GB of internal storage, microSD memory card slot, WiFi, and more (via SlashGear).
