The slider is heading towards the U.S.

After a pretty eventful Consumer Electronics Show where Nokia launched several mobile phones, it is time to hear about another phone, that didn't quite make the CES this year, but which will be out on the market pretty soon.

The E-series slider phone, Nokia E65, was mentioned before, but not much information was provided. Well, Nokia was really making plans for the E65, and the phone is now close to being released, because it has just been approved by the Federal Communications Commission. The good news is that it will be heading towards the U.S. soon, while the bad news is that it lacks a North American 3G band (remember how Nokia was saying that the lack of 3G in the iPhone was 'surprising'?).

What it does come with is WiFi capability and it provides the opportunity to make VoIP calls. Aside from that, expect your usual S60 3rd Edition Symbian 9.1 Nokia mobile phone that comes with 70MB internal storage, a 2 megapixel camera and Bluetooth for connectivity.

As usual, if the internal memory isn't enough for you, the almost always present MicroSD card slot will provide some extra storage space. The E65 slider seems to mainly target the business users out there, but will without any doubt bring multimedia capabilities.

Complete information about the features of this phone will most likely be provided soon, as the phone's release date gets closer. There is also no information on which wireless carrier will be offering this mobile phone in the U.S, but when the E65 does become available, it will have a price of approximately $440 (340 Euro).
