Nokia E63 has made it to North America. The Finnish mobile phone maker announced last month that the QWERTY smartphone would come to US users and now it can be found at Nokia's own U.S. flagship stores for quite a low price tag. The handset comes with support for the N. American 3G frequencies, although it's being sold unlocked and it should work with AT&T, T-Mobile, Rogers or other GSM carriers.

The Nokia E63 features a price of just $280, although there are other unlocked smartphones that cost above the range of average purchases. The E63 somehow resembles the popular E71, but it differs in what the keyboard layout is concerned, as well as in terms of 3G support, since the new handset does not come with the HSDPA standard, which is meant to offer faster download speeds.

The specs of the handset include Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS capabilities, a 2-megapixel camera, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, as well as a microSDHC memory card slot that provides support for up to 16GB of external storage space.

The Nokia E63 runs on Symbian S60 Feature Pack 1 (v3.1) operating system and includes support for the company's Mail for Exchange, which offers Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync compatibility, including features like email, calendar, contacts, and task sync, plus global address book. The device also cones with Nokia's Files on Ovi online backup service that provides up to 1GB of storage space for free.

The Nokia E63 for North America comes in ruby red and ultramarine blue, and it can be acquired unlocked from Nokia Flagship Stores in New York and Chicago. The handset will also become available from a series of independent retailers and e-tailers in the near future. At the same time, a standard version of the device is also available on the US market, although it lacks N. American 3G capabilities.

More information on the handset can be found on Nokia USA's website.
