AT&T has decided to stop offering Nokia E62 phone model to their customers for an unknown reason. That is bad news for Nokia, as they have been making efforts to win themselves a steady if not even growing place on the US market.

The US is a market which Nokia has to make serious efforts in order to win. Their position has a long way to go until it will manage to reach the same success as it has on other markets. For this reason, the Finnish company might have to lose with every device that they can no longer support for customers from this country.

Nokia E62 smartphone model has been available for nine months now at Cingular, which now provides services under the name of AT&T, after company junction. This mobile phone has already been removed from the company's website, leaving room for other Nokia models to come.

There will be several other handsets coming from Nokia in order to bring similar services with those that the E62 model used to provide. Still, customers might rather look at BlackBerry models for finding similar performances, as this model highly resembles some of RIM's models. It's probably due to the full QWERTY keypad and the support for Windows Mobile, but AT&T promises to introduce other Nokia phone models in order to compensate for the removal of this one.

Nokia E62 came with several advantages, most of them available at BlackBerry models too. Specifications included a video and music player as well as Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, users had the possibility of creating and sending emails and instant messages through the most important carriers.

Nokia E62 used to come for the low price of USD 150 and proved to be popular due to the fact that it used Symbian platform. AT&T has made no pre-announcements for the smartphone which is meant to replace Nokia E62 in the future.
