Espoo, Finland-based mobile phone maker Nokia announced today that its Nokia E6 and Nokia X7 Symbian Anna-powered mobile phones have started shipping.

The Nokia E6 is expected to hit shelves all around the world, while the Nokia X7 would arrive only in Europe, Eurasia, China, India and other Asia/Pacific countries.

As stated above, one of the main selling points the new devices arrive with would be the Symbian Anna operating system, which comes with new features when compared to the previous releases of the platform.

The new OS should deliver a faster and better web experience via a new browser, as well as long-awaited portrait QWERTY, split screen text input, and new Ovi Maps with public transport routes, among other enhancements.

Available now on these two smartphones from Nokia, the new Symbian Anna OS should arrive on older hardware as well, and a recent post on Nokia Conversations confirms it.

“And fear not Nokia N8, E7, C7 and C6 fans – Symbian Anna will be available for you in the coming months,” the said post reads.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the E6 smartphone is the latest addition to Nokia's Touch&Type series, featuring a QWERTY keyboard for increased usability.

Through this device, users can enjoy faster navigation and operation, as well as access to Microsoft business solutions (Mail for Exchange, Microsoft Communicator Mobile and Microsoft SharePoint).

The features list of the new Nokia E6 also includes a fast application processor, along with enhanced connectivity capabilities, 8GB of internal memory, and more.

On the back, the new device packs an 8-megapixel full focus camera with dual-LED flash and 720p video recording.

The Nokia X7, a full touch handset, was designed for entertainment enthusiasts and sports a large 4-inch screen, along with a unique design, Toughened glass and seamless stainless steel.

The mobile phone also sports an 8-megapixel full focus camera with support for recording videos in HD 720p and with dual-LED flash, as well as an 8GB memory card pre-installed.

Nokia E6 and Nokia X7 were unveiled to the world only several weeks ago, and the fact that they have already started shipping shows Nokia's commitment to deliver newly announced devices to the market faster than before.
