14 DAY TRIAL // Last month, Nokia unveiled to the world two new mobile phones based on the Symbian platform, the Nokia E6-00 and the Nokia X7, and it seems that the company is already getting ready to bring them to the market.
Both devices have just appeared as being available for pre-order through Nokia's own website in Germany and Portugal, and info on their price tags also emerged.
Apparently, the Nokia X7, the latest entertainment powerhouse from the leading mobile phone maker, is set to arrive on shelves in Germany at €459, while being listed in Portugal at €489.
As for the Nokia E6-00, it was spotted in Germany at €429, with that touch&type form factor and the QWERTY keyboard on the front.
Only Nokia X7 is listed on pre-order through Nokia Portugal, with the recently unveiled pink Nokia N8 next to it.
For those out of the loop, we should note that the two smartphones were unveiled last months with the new Symbian Anna OS flavor on board, which brings a nice range of enhancements when compared to the previous releases of the platform.
“The X7 is the first Nokia device to include the latest version of Symbian, with new icons and usability improvements,” one can read on Nokia's website.
Some of these enhancements would include “virtual QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode, Internet browsing experience faster with the new Nokia Browser, Maps and Ovi service upgraded to a GPS optimized, detailed maps and public transport lines.”
The Nokia X7 arrives on shelves with a large touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, fast access to social networking sites, 3G, WiFi, built-in GPS receiver, and the like. It also sports enhanced multimedia capabilities, Nokia announced.
The Nokia E6-00 arrives on shelves as a business-oriented handset, with a 2.46-inch touchscreen and the aforementioned QWERTY keyboard, as well as with improved connectivity capabilities, a battery that can offer 28 days of standby time, and other features as well.
