Not only did Nokia release updated versions of its HERE Drive, HERE Drive+, and HERE Transit navigation applications for Windows Phone 8 devices, but it also provided specific info on the pricing and availability of the HERE services for users interested in taking advantage of them.

The updated versions of the two applications can be downloaded on both Nokia and non-Nokia Windows Phone 8 devices, though not in all markets around the world. Pricing might vary according to country.

The HERE Drive application with local navigation license is available for Nokia Lumia 720, Lumia 520, and Lumia 521 for free via the Windows Phone Store, worldwide. However, users interested in a global navigation license can grab it via in-app upgrade for €15.49 ($19.81).

The HERE Drive app for other Windows Phone 8 smartphones is free in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, the UK, and the US. A global navigation license can be purchased as an in-app upgrade for €15.49 ($19.81).

The HERE Drive+ app is available worldwide with global navigation license for the owners of Nokia Lumia 928, Lumia 925, Lumia 920, Lumia 822, Lumia 820, Lumia 810, and Lumia 620 devices.

The owners of other Windows Phone 8 handsets interested in enjoying HERE Drive+ can grab it through the Windows Phone Store at €34.99 ($44.76).

The HERE Transit application is offered at no charge for all Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones. The app is available for free for the owners of other Windows Phone 8 devices in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, the UK, and the US as well.

Users in Australia, China, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, and the UAE interested in HERE transit will have to pay €1.99 ($2.55) for it.

“With the global release of HERE Drive+ for all Windows Phone 8 devices we will further extend our HERE business and deliver on our promise of making HERE experiences available for as many people as possible,” said Thom Brenner, vice president, Windows Phone applications, HERE.

“The more people are using our location offering the better it will get for everyone. At the same time this release also demonstrates our commitment to further strengthen the Windows Phone ecosystem with our maps assets.”
