A Nokia tablet PC might still come in the not too distant future

Yesterday, Nokia launched its Windows Phone 8-based Lumia 620 smartphone in Pakistan, and showcased the device next to some other Windows-based devices, including a tablet PC that was believed to be Nokia-made.

As it turns out, this was not the case, as the company stepped up today to deny showing such as device.

In fact, the company told MyNokiaBlog that the images presented at the event were merely WP UIs alongside Windows 8 Tablet UIs.

In other words, the tablet PC was only a placeholder, though this does not exclude the possibility that the Finnish handset vendor will launch a Windows 8 slate of its own.

In fact, the company itself has already confirmed interest in the area, suggesting that both 7-inch and 10-inch tablets look appealing, although it did not provide specific details on its plans on the matter.
