There’s no word on pricing options for the time being

Nokia Lumia 920 was expected to arrive in India in mid-December, but it looks like the Finnish company delayed the launch of the smartphone until next year.

The folks over at MyNokiaBlog report that some of the best Windows Phone 8 handsets are expected to land in India in the first week of January 2013.

It appears that Nokia Care has confirmed that the Lumia 920, 820 and 620 will be available for purchase in early January.

A Windows Phone fan living in India and who goes by the name of Rishabh asked Nokia Care when exactly the Lumia 920 would be available in the country.

Nokia Care replied that the Lumia 920 would be in stores “by the first week of January,” though it did not offer additional details on pricing options.

However, previous rumors suggest that the Nokia Lumia 920 will be priced at Rs 30,990 outright, which is about $600 or €455.

In the same piece of news, Rishabh wanted to know if the Lumia 820 and 620 would also be released in India in the following weeks.

Nokia Care was kind enough to answer his question again by saying that both smartphones would arrive in India at the same time as Nokia Lumia 920.

This means that Windows Phone enthusiasts in India will be able to choose from three Nokia smartphones in the first week of January.

For the time being, no details on the phones’ pricing options have been given, but more info is likely to emerge soon after Christmas.

We doubt the Nokia Lumia 920 will be exclusive to an Indian carrier, so we expected that the Finnish company will introduce the smartphone through most major retailers across the country.

It is also worth mentioning that Nokia Care’s information is not among the most reliable, so we should take it with a grain of salt until more details surface. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
