Nokia C7, the Symbian^3-based smartphone that T-Mobile is expected to make available for purchase on its airwaves, might hit shelves as soon as April 6th, if some of the latest reports on the matter are to be believed.

The mobile phone was previously spotted into the wild under the codename of Tiger, but it seems that it might actually be released as the Nokia Astound during the first week of April.

Moreover, some info on the price tag of this device also emerged, suggesting that we're to see it available on contract at T-Mobile for around $79.99, after mail-in rebate.

This would make the smartphone quite an affordable deal on the carrier's network, though it would face fierce competition the Android-based devices the company already has on sale.

On the other hand, it appears that the C7 won't be the only Nokia smartphone that would be on its way to T-Mobile's airwaves during the ongoing year.

Rumor has it that at least four other devices would share a similar fate, with more of them being set to arrive next year, including Nokia Windows Phone handsets.

Apparently, Nokia and T-Mobile would plan on making the Nokia Astound official as soon as Monday, March 21st, during a CTIA press event.

As far as rumor goes, the handset would arrive at T-Mobile as a 3G-only device.

Nothing has been confirmed on this for the time being, but all reports converge to the same point, so we'll wait for a formal announcement on this in the near future.

For those who might have not encountered the Nokia C7 before, we should note that it was one of the first Symbian^3 smartphones that Nokia brought to the market last year.

It sports a large AMOLED display, a fast processor, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, microSD memory card slot, an 8megapixel photo snapper on the back, GPS receiver, the usual set of sensors, and more.
